Jayalalithaa new scheme got good response for her new scheme and she has a special space in hearts of Tamil people by providing quality goods at subsidized prices.
On Saturday, Jayalalithaa introduced 'Amma Kudineer Thittam' scheme which is meant to provide drinking water to the poor and she said that the poor people can't afford to buy drinking water supplied by private players and now her mission is to fulfill their desire now.
In the first phase, 'Amma Kudineer Thittam' scheme will be implemented in 100 places in Greater Chennai Corporation where most poor people live. Each family would be supplied 20 litres of drinking water per day. Depending on the response from the people, Tamil Nadu Government might consider issuing smart cards for beneficiaries and implement the scheme in other areas as well.
